Lordsburg High School is pleased to announce that senior, Madison Miller, has been awarded the Daniels Scholarship for $25,000 per year. The Daniels Scholarship program is a competitive process with nearly 2,000 qualified candidates. The selection process was rigorous and only 29 applicants were chosen from New Mexico. Madison was one of 361 semifinalist from Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming and Utah that interviewed virtually.
The Daniels fund is a private charitable foundation dedicated to making life better for the people of Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. The candidates were selected for demonstrating strength of character, leadership potential and a commitment to serving their community. These qualities and values were important to the founder of the scholarship program cable television pioneer Bill Daniels.
Madison has been accepted at Brigham Young University in Utah where she will major in Exercise Science, which is the first step to becoming a Physical Therapist.
